Meet Karen

Karen was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan but now calls the Mid-Michigan region home. She joined the Health Promotion staff as a Nutritionist in 2018 where she provides nutrition counseling to MSU students. Karen is an MSU supervisor of the Peer Body Project, a program designed to promote positive body image and empower students to engage in body acceptance. She is a member of MSU’s Nutrition Coalition, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians, and the Center for Mindful Eating. On a personal note, Karen is proud of two daughters who are MSU graduates and a niece who is currently enrolled. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, fishing, running, yoga, mindfulness meditation, and writing.
